Group Product Manager Multimodal Understanding and Generation

The role

As a product manager at Google DeepMind you will be responsible for the shipping cutting edge AI research breakthroughs into Googles AI models. As a PM on Foundational Research within GDM you will be working with brilliant AI researchers who are focused on making the biggest advances across new model architectures AGI and advanced applications like Agents and Robotics. As the PM for Multimodal Understanding and Generation within Foundational Research your job will be to understand the implications of new breakthroughs in multimodality (audio video images 3D 4D games) and work with various Google products like Youtube Cloud Search Android Pixel to understand user needs and invent the future of multimodal experiences. In addition to shipping multimodal advances directly into our existing products you will work closely with researchers to explore new products which we might want to incubate in this space by bringing together Gemini and novel domain specific capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Understand implications of new multimodal understanding and generation breakthroughs on Google products Gemini and other models.
• Build collaborations with product teams and model development teams to ship multimodal advances.
• Work with Google product areas and jointly envision new features that can be brought to life only because of new research breakthroughs in this space.
• Evangelize research and make the technical breakthroughs as selfserve and platformized as possible to scale across Google products.
• Sometimes incubate entirely new products.

About you

In order to set you up for success as a Product Manager at Google DeepMind we look for the following skills and experience:

• BSc MSc or PhD in Computer Science.
• Deep understanding of AI models especially in the context of multimodality.
• Demonstrated experience in building AI products rooted in significant architectural and model advancements or insights.
• A rich understanding of the current model landscape and strengths of weaknesses of various techniques.
• Expertise building successful consumer products in one of the following spaces: video gaming 3D speech and audio image generation.
• Ability to stay uptospeed on all relevant research in multimodal understanding and generation.
• Strong ability to communicate complex technical advancements with great simplicity.
• Very strong ability to collaborate in high stakes environments with multiple senior stakeholders and technical leads.

The US base salary range for this fulltime position is between $227000 $320000 bonus equity benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
