Job Description
The State College Area School District is currently accepting applications for Substitute Teachers for the 202425 school year. The district is searching for candidates who demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and development and possess various professional experiences. Organizational and collaborative skills are critical to success in these positions.
Qualifications:
- PA Teaching Certification or the ability to obtain aPA Emergency Certification if not PA teacher certified a bachelors degree in any area is required for the emergency certification.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and instruct students of all ages.
- Flexibility and criticalthinking skills.
- Basic computer skills are recommended but not required.
- Patience.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Follow lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.
- Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each student.
- Supervise students in and out of the classroom including in the halls playground and cafeteria.
- Provide inclass assignments based on the available lesson plans.
- Take classroom attendance.
