Job Description
The Role
Candid Health is seeking a new engineer for our DevOps team. In this role youll work with incredibly capable engineers and operators who are intent on tackling some of the hardest and most meaningful problems in the US healthcare system. Youll be responsible for working with developers to architect build and maintain tooling and infrastructure that powers all of the work we do. Our ideal candidate is technically adept 5 years of relevant industry experience) who can drive ambitious improvements to the developer experience motivated by improving the day to day experience and efficiency of their fellow engineers.
What Youll Do
Write and manage python libraries for use by many product engineering teams
Spearhead significant changes to our developer experience creating and delivering tools using GCP Terraform Kubernetes Docker Github and Postgres.
Implement robust continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines ensuring efficient application delivery and reduced downtimes.
Optimize our Python test environments and accelerate engineering velocity
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify the needs of the organization optimize performance and empower our engineers.
Deliver enhanced observability to our stack helping developers solve problems in our cloud environments.
Provide feedback and suggestions for improving DevOps processes and automating routine tasks.
Who You Are
You come with 4 years of handson SRE DevX or DevOps experience.
Handson experience with our tech stack: Python GCP Terraform Kubernetes Docker Github and Postgres. However familiarity with parallel technologies like AWS is equally welcomed.
Youre comfortable writing code in Python and know your way around Python test environments
Youre not just technically sound; you enjoy collaborating with other engineers and are motivated by delivering a product that makes their work easier and more effective.
Continuous learning is your mantra. You stay up to date on the latest in the DevOps world and are eager to bring that knowledge on board.
Youre proactive solutiondriven and always keen to optimize systems for performance scalability and security.
What we do
Were fixing one of the most broken and costly pieces of the US healthcare system: medical billing.
Today healthcare providers spend over $250B each year on administrative overhead just to get paid by insurance. Medical billing is expensive because its nuanced and hard maybe 100x harder than credit card payment processing and because its traditionally done by armies of humans who track and manage complex rules and processes specific to individual insurance companies with little or no supporting software. Were rethinking medical billing from the ground up building software backed by bestinclass data science (and soon a dash of machine learning) to automate much of this complexity so healthcare providers can get paid dramatically more easily and inexpensively.
We were in the Y Combinator W20 batch and have since been well funded by a worldclass group of funds 8VC First Round Capital BoxGroup) angel investors. Were now helping our customers treat opioid addiction provide holistic care for women lose weight increase access to mental health care and much more. Pay Transparency
The estimated starting annual salary range for this position is $148000 to $220000 USD. The listed range is a guideline from Pave data and the actual base salary may be modified based on factors including jobrelated skills experience/qualifications interview performance market data etc. Total compensation for this position may also include equity sales incentives (for sales roles) and employee benefits. Given Candid Healths funding and size we heavily value the potential upside from equity in our compensation package. Further note that Candid Health has minimal hierarchy and titles but has broad ranges of experience represented within roles.
