ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The PRIME software team implements common hardware programming sequencesacross different operating systems and engages with our silicon design team to develop stateoftheart graphics & platform power management technologies without sacrificing performance. If you are interested in learning lowlevel kernel mode hardware programming Windows and Linux driver and OS architecture then thePRIME team is where its at.
JOB PURPOSE
Todevelop stateoftheart graphics & platform power management technologies without sacrificing performance. Resolving complex systemlevel challenges anddeveloping new features across OSes in AMDs display driver in support of our graphics and APU products.
Position Title: Software Development Engineer 2
Key Responsibilities:
- Feature development based on Engineering and Marketing requirements
- Debug analyze and resolve quality and certification issues as reported by Customers and QA
- Driver bringup and qualification on new hardware platforms
- Write high level driver design documents and test plans of new features
- Write detailed design notes for major driver changes
- Report status of activities to management and peers in a concise timely and effective manner. Coordinate closely with peers and colleagues from other teams to ensure timely and effective communication of all assigned work activities
- Execute software assignments as a highly motivated selfstarter
- Continuously try harder get better be involved and assume responsibility
Education Requirements:
Bachelors degree in computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
Skills and Experience:
- Proficient in objectoriented programming 2 years)
- Proficient at C/C programming language 2 years)
- Experience with software debuggers such as WinDbg 2 years)
- Experience with Kernel mode driver programming under MS Windows/Linux environment 2 years)
- Good understanding of PC architecture
- Strong oral and written skill
- Experience with graphic driver (optional)
- Experience with lowlevel hardware device programming (optional)
