Job Description
The Leidos Spatial Solutions team has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer with Windows system administration experience to work on cloudbased systems supporting mission critical operations in Gaithersburg MD. The team is involved in operation and sustainment of multiple operational cloud deployed geospatial solutions. A successful candidate will be a selfstarter and have experience with installation configuration administration support and maintenance of cloudbased systems and administration of citrixbased desktops in cloudbased environments. Additional locations for this role include: Chantilly VA St. Louis MO and Alexandria VA.
Primary Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will involve taking a leadership role in system changes and improvements; working directly with government and contractor POCs to troubleshoot and responding to complex user INCs (Incident Reports); proactively recommend configuration changes to help improve system performance; Deploy security patches and bug fixes to test and operational environments; update critical databases with new data; author and update operational and security documentation including troubleshooting guides and SOPs.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a BS in Information Systems Information Technology Computer Science or closely related discipline and 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 years of prior relevant experience; OR 6 years of experience in lieu of degree
Must possess an active Top Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI with Polygraph
DOD 8570 Certification (Security or equivalent or higher)
Experience with Microsoft Windows Server
Windows administration experience
Experience completing security remediation tasks based on security scans
Citrix administration experience
Knowledge of Systems Architectural SW Development and SW Sustainment Practices
Proficient in software development projects or software integration projects in a serviceoriented environment (Cloud SOA WebServices) or virtualization environment.
Experience with AWS architectures and technologies
Familiar with Amazon Web Services (S3 Buckets EC2 Reserved Instances etc.
Familiar with Git/GitLab or other source code control tools
Familiar with System Engineering documentation creation (VDDs diagrams etc.
Familiar with team collaboration tools (Jira Confluence)
Preferred Qualifications:
SAFe Agile Certification
Experience providing systems engineering support for geospatial products
Citrix certification(s)
AWS certification (e.g. Solutions Architect Developer DevOps Engineer)
