Job Description
Bensalem School District has an immediate need for Substitute Cafeteria General Worker. The position goal is to serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an efficient manner in a clean and friendly atmosphere.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in the preparation of food portions and prepares cafeteria counter.
- Ensure students are taking the required meals.
- Serves students and staff from the cafeteria counter or acts as cashier on computerized registers
- Operates dish machine or works in dish room area.
- Removes used dishes and assists in the cleaning of counters tables and furnishings in the dining area.
- Maintains the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion. Also sweeps and mops assigned area.
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned or necessary for an efficient operation.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each

- Possess appropriate level of education and experience to perform the
- essential duties relative to the position.
- Ability to comprehend analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures governmental regulations safety manuals etc. and to generate routine reports and correspondence pertinent to the essential job duties.
- Ability to communicate and to demonstrate interpersonal skills effectively in dealing with students staff parents community members and educational agencies as related to performance of the duties of the position.
- Ability to perform mathematical operations and to apply mechanical skills and technical skills to accomplish the essential duties of the position.
- Ability to interpret and to carry out instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to perform routine tasks cooperatively and to adjust to interruptions variables or changes in standardized situations.
SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Exhibits a pleasant disposition and can interact with students and staff.
- Possesses a basic knowledge of food handling and sanitation procedures to protect the health and wellbeing of our customers.
- Demonstrates the ability to count add and to make change
- Work Hours As needed
