Job Description
Position Summary:
City Connects is a schoolbased student support collaboration program among schools community agencies and Boston College. The City Connects program is an innovative model of systemic student support implemented in K12 schools in the school district of University City area. City Connects personnel assess the strengths and needs of each student in the school and connect students with a tailored set of supports and resources from inside and outside the school.
City Connects seeks a fulltime Program Manager in The School District of University City area to provide leadership in the areas of program implementation professional development and supervision to schools implementing the City Connects model.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Recruit and support the hiring of schoolbased coordinators who are conducting the work of City Connects with schools and students
- Provide professional development and coaching on the City Connects model of student support for coordinators within each school
- Supervise and support the evaluation of coordinators at each school
- Monitor the fidelity of implementation of the City Connects model of student support at each school
- Collaborate with principals and other school leaders to support coordinators in the delivery of the model
- Assist in developing and maintaining community agency relationships through events communications and committees
- Support the collection of highquality student support data and utilize data to monitor progress
- Communicate on a regular basis with the larger City Connects organization on policy practice and implementation of the City Connects model of student support

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
The qualifications noted below are required to enable the employee to perform the essential duties/responsibilities of this position.
- Masters degree in human services education or related field
- Knowledge of schools
- Program Management experience
- Supervisory experience
- Community outreach experience
- Ability to write and manage grants
- Cultural competency working with diverse urban communities
Preferred: Strong leadership skills; schoolbased experience; ability to work as a member of a team; experience managing interagency partnerships; fluency in a second language
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sufficient vision to read printed material see distant objects with clarity and identify and distinguish objects
- Sufficient hearing to hear conversations in person and on the telephone and hear sounds clearly up to 30 feet
- Ability to speak in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversation and on the telephone and in addressing groups
- Ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects
- This position requires standing walking sitting bending and reaching for extended periods of time
- Sufficient manual dexterity and/or mobility to grasp and/or manipulate objects operate mechanical equipment and move about the work area
- This position will subject the employee to work environments that have exposure to weather or interiors with extremes of heat and/or cold wet and/or humid conditions high noise levels and various work related hazards
