We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join our school name team. The ideal candidate will have a deep love for music and a strong ability to inspire and nurture students musical abilities. This role involves teaching music theory vocal and instrumental skills and fostering an appreciation for music in a diverse and inclusive classroom environment.
Teach Music Classes: Provide highquality instruction in music theory voice and various musical instruments (e.g. piano guitar strings percussion).
Create Lesson Plans: Develop engaging and ageappropriate lesson plans that meet curriculum guidelines and foster a love for music.
Assess Student Progress: Monitor and assess students musical abilities and provide constructive feedback to ensure their growth and development.
Organize Performances: Coordinate and direct school concerts recitals and music events.
Manage Classroom Environment: Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity collaboration and respect.
Provide Individual Support: Offer extra help to students who need additional support including oneonone lessons or tutoring sessions.
Collaborate with Other Staff: Work with other teachers and staff to integrate music into the broader school curriculum and contribute to schoolwide events.
Keep Records: Maintain student records including attendance performance evaluations and progress reports.
Stay Current: Continuously update and improve musical knowledge and teaching methods through professional development.
Education: Bachelors degree in Music Education Music or a related field (Masters preferred).
Certification: Teaching certification in Music Education as required by the state or country.
Experience: Previous teaching experience in music education ideally in a K12 setting.
Skills:
Proficiency in one or more musical instruments or vocal performance.
Strong understanding of music theory and pedagogy.
Ability to teach and engage students with diverse musical interests.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work with students of varying skill levels.
Experience directing school bands choirs or orchestras.
Knowledge of modern music technology and software.
Ability to organize school performances or community outreach programs related to music.
