Job Description
Draughtsman
Location: Brackenfell
Our client is a Cape Townbased company that specialises in the design manufacture and marketing of premier quality functional stainless steel wire products. They are seeking a skilled draughtsman to join their team. This role is ideal for a detailoriented draughtsman with SolidWorks experience who thrives in a manufacturing environment and enjoys translating ideas into technical drawings for production.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Produce detailed technical drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks.
- Modify and update existing designs to improve efficiency and manufacturability.
- Work closely with the design and production teams to ensure drawings align with manufacturing requirements.
- Assist in developing prototypes and new product designs based on customer or market needs.
- Ensure all drawings meet industry and safety standards for stainless steel products.
- Maintain an organized digital archive of drawings and design specifications
- Diploma/Certificate in Draughting Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (essential).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes materials and technical specifications.
- Ability to interpret and create technical drawings with accuracy.
- Excellent attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
- Experience in sheet metal and wire product design is advantageous.
