Job Description

We are hiring an Area Financial Controller.

OUR ROLE

Reporting to the Area General Manager the Area Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing financial operations across our three branded hotels ensuring the accuracy integrity and compliance of financial reporting and accounting processes within each property. The idea candidate will excel at providing leadership that will drive financial performance optimizing processes and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence in accounting practices.

Key responsibilities include:

Provide the highest level of customer service to internal partners and external clients at all times and set the example and tone of interactions for hotel teams and staff.

Demonstrate excellent time management selfmotivation and proactive planning and endeavor to be organizationally savvy with a keen focus on detail setting the example for the Accounting team.

Handle reporting communication with owners corporate office vendors and guests as needed.

Draft and prepare hotels Forecast of Expenses and Revenues working with department heads to establish pace.

Provide the Area General Manager and hotel General Manager with timely and accurate data on which to make management decisions. Provide accurate and meaningful financial statements to owners and management.

Ensure the controls are minimizing losses and maximizing profits by retaining revenues reducing expenses and safeguarding hotel assets.

Coordinate budget preparation and ensure the full involvement of AGM General Managers and Department Heads.

Train all associates in the Accounting department how to perform their job duties to the best of their abilities while in accordance with established objectives policies and procedures.

Report deviations of hotel policies procedures legal requirements and contractual obligations to the Area General Manager.

Protect the assets of all assigned hotels.

YOUR STORY

A seasoned professional with a minimum of five years experience in a Senior Finance Controller or an Area role within the hospitality industry.

A postsecondary education in an Accounting/Finance discipline.

Someone with an outstanding work ethic along with a track record of reliability punctuality and an approachable demeanor with a strong commitment to Safety.

Demonstrated professionalism sound judgment and the ability to use discretion and diplomacy while maintaining confidentiality ethics and company standards.

Excellent organizational followthrough and workload planning skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities while adhering to deadlines.

An exceptional problemsolver knowing how to troubleshoot and resolve situations efficiently.

Someone with a keen eye for detail.

An excellent communicator both written and verbal who values teamwork and collaboration.

Someone who safeguards proprietary information and ensures the protection of company assets.

Physically able to stand sit walk for extended periods of time.

Physically able to move lift carry push pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
