Role Title: Senior Digital Design Manager

Department & Team: Marketing Digital Experience & Channels

Role reports to: Head of Digital Experience & Channels

M&G is committed to enhancing our digital channels to engage with our customers and advisers and we are growing our design practice by looking to bring onboard a creative senior digital design manager.

Were looking for a visionary leader who has a passion for design a proven track record and who can leave and inspire their team to create innovative and visually stunning digital experiences.

If you can think strategically drive design direction and bring usercentric interfaces to life aligned to our brand identity together with leading a team and developing a universal design system then this could be the role for you.

As this is a senior position you will lead on creative projects mentor and develop talent along with being the champion of user experience working across the wider digital team and collaborating with marketing channel teams as well as wider stakeholders across M&G.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design team in developing innovative solutions to meet the goals of our audiences developing creative solutions to solve problems across our digital channels.
  • Generate design concepts together with creative problem solving utilising user centric design methods to design user interfaces that are easy to use and visually appealing.
  • Own the digital design system the library and go to place for all elements of digital design ensuring it benefits others who will utilise the standards that your team define.
  • Develop solutions that utilise alternative engagement methods including the use of generative or agentic AI to build new methods in design thinking.
  • Work across the digital ecosystem supporting all digital channels across web social digital media email data visualisation to ensure consistency in design language across core audiences.
  • Collaborate in conjunction with the Head of Content to implement content activation and dissemination guidelines to optimise key audience messaging.
  • Collaborate with Senior Digital Experience Manager and Senior Digital Channels Manager to ensure design at the forefront of user engagement.
  • Actively manage the design backlog working with frontend developers and testers on feature design and development ensuring interaction design guidelines are following stringently.
  • Collaborate across marketing business channels to ensure digital design standards are incorporated into go to and take to market briefs ensuring agencies follow digital standards.

Key Knowledge Skills & Experience:

  • You possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills the ability to write with a clear concise and engaging purpose.
  • You know how to develop and implement effective content strategies across a range of social channels.
  • Youre a creative thinker someone who can generate innovative ideas and convey them to get everyone to buyin to your vision.
  • Youre able to visually storyboard concepts aligned to content and can brief your ideas to generate artwork video or infographics to maximise content narrative.
  • You understand data triggers and can work with analysts to develop impactful dashboards to highlight and convey impact engagement and conversion.
  • Youve solid problemsolving skills that you use to identify and address challenges.
  • Youre effective at time management and can balance multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Youre autonomous in managing your workload and taking decisions whilst ensuring you engage across teams with your communication.
  • You have a wider appreciation of the connected digital ecosystem from SEO to Websites and you can work across teams to align content messaging.
