In this position you will provide timely daytoday environmental support and technical expertise for Operations and act as a point of contact to access the expertise of the larger Environment Department. Subject matter expertise includes but is not limited to environmental legislation at the federal state and/or municipal levels as well as knowledge in air water waste management compliance environmental permitting Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Emergency Planning & Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA) emergency response and environmental management systems. What You Will Do:
Engagement with regional staff on daytoday environmental matters such as operating permit compliance and reporting waste handling environmental clearances for O&M work vegetation management problem solving.
Accountable for the development coordination and implementation of environmental programs
Act as Companys technical environmental representative or liaison for Operations.
Oversight of environmental consultants as they relate to operational work.
Coordination and support of environmental regulator inspections.
Environmental compliance reporting and recordkeeping as applicable.
Environmental incident investigations as assigned.
Regional environmental compliance assurance through the Environmental Protection Program.
Subject matter expertise for local outreach and stakeholder relations.
Provide support for cleanup of releases and spills through technical guidance and oversight of environment related resources
Environment Unit Lead role duties within the Incident Command System during regional emergencies and emergency response exercises as well as subsidiary support to emergency response events throughout the Liquids Pipeline system.
Work in achievement of department objectives.
Environmental leadership by promoting developing coordinating and facilitating environment culture awareness and recognition initiatives within operational area of support.
Promotion of industry best practices by monitoring regulatory trends and proactively identifying environmental issues; and
Participation on assigned committees and special topic working groups.
Who You Are:
You have the following education and experience:
Bachelors degree in environmental science environmental engineering biology geology or related field.
At least eight years of environmental experience in pipeline industry or upstream oil and gas sectors or renewable power.
A selfstarter with strong written and oral communication skills.
The ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to comprehend diverse regulatory scientific and technical issues.
Communicate to a wide variety of people including employees management regulatory agencies and the public.
Analytical skills to quickly analyze situations determine key issues and prepare recommended solutions and/or responses.
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple activities at once under deadline pressure.
The highest standards of personal integrity supported by open and honest communication
Excellent attention to detail organizational and project management skills.
Ability to develop effective collaborative working relationships with colleagues from a variety of disciplines levels of the organization and geographic locations.
Experience in the pipeline or renewable power industry is an asset.
Working Conditions:
Office environment with regular travel of 25 to 40
