Job Summary The assistant credit manager is responsible for all aspects of credit management including reviewing and establishing credit lines for customers within the approved authority. This role primarily involves officebased or nonmanual work related to management policies and general business operations.
Job Duties
Evaluate credit requests submitted by branch personnel ensuring adequate documentation and support. Establish credit lines within company policy limits; and request additional information as needed.
Conduct customer and location visits to promote financing programs provide creditrelated training for locating personnel and support the Credit Manager.
Monitor payment activity manage delinquent accounts and initiate appropriate collection actions. Provide status updates to the Credit Manager and Division Manager.
Offer training and guidance both written and verbal to location staff and credit department personnel on credit related matters.
Analyze credit risk based on trends and exposure taking necessary actions in coordination with the Credit Manager.
Maintain proper documentation of credit decisions in customer in customer files conduct periodic reviews and follow up on credit lines.
May oversee credit department personnel ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include recruiting hiring and training employees; coordinating work assignments; monitoring performance; providing feedback recognition; addressing concerns; and implementing disciplinary actions as necessary.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Ag Econ or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience in credit management financial analysis or collections may be considered.
4 plus years of experience in on the job understanding of credit evaluation risk analysis and financial statements. Experience in setting credit lines and managing collections preferred.
On the job experience with Microsoft Office products specifically inputting information into a document; database experience in a plus
