Job Description
Job Title: Senior Network EngineerFLSA Status: ExemptPay Grade: 105Work Days: 226Reports To: Director of ITPrimary PurposeTo oversee the management stability and performance of various critical networks. This role involves supervising junior staff delegating tasks and resolving advanced network issues. The focus includes maintaining networks like the FIBER11 ESC11 Core and ESC11 Disaster Recovery networks as well as networks for local education agencies (LEAs).QualificationsTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential Degree or six years of networking experience preferredCurrent CCNA or applicable networking certifications preferredSpecial Knowledge/SkillsCommunicate effectively both in writing and verbally while working collaboratively with technology and security principles effective interpersonal and collaborative skills with both internal and external to detail and ability to quickly and appropriately troubleshoot and repair problemsExtensive knowledge of routers switches WLAN hardware network monitoring tools and TCP/PI protocol use and LAN design and best practices wireless network protocols PC operating systems Cisco cloud platforms VMware or similar technologies and antivirus management and with VMware NSX optical transport networking Intrusion Detection Systems opensource network tools and Linux operating systems and terminal years of experience working with networking and telecommunications equipment performing the duties of configuring monitoring and managing LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure including management of routers switches and associated Duties and Responsibilities*This job description is not intended and should not be construed to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities skills efforts or working conditions associated with this job.
