Job Description

Job Summary

Develops distributes and evaluates educational content and psychosocial interventions related to wellbeing with an emphasis on providing planned and ondemand practical and applied programming for a broad distribution of roles throughout the system. The role supports the system wellbeing initiatives to cultivate an environment conducive to optimizing the experience of providing exceptional care with a focus on creating programming that helps mitigate the factors of stress burnout vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue. Serves as content expert for individual and programbased interventions to develop the wellbeing and resilience skills of caregivers while improving the systems response to predictable sources of workplace stress and trauma. Champions stigmareduction efforts and helpseeking campaigns. Offers support to team members and medical staff and facilitate referrals to other mental health professionals when appropriate.

Essential Functions

  • Develops meaningful and effective relationships with leadership and frontline staff. Engages in regular direct communication with caregivers in person and via electronic methods to raise awareness of specific programming and wellbeing resources.
  • Represents Team Member Wellbeing team and/or the Office of Physician and APP Fulfillment at various orientation and wellbeing events.
  • Identifies gaps in caregiver programming and support recommending and implementing solutions.
  • Serves as a resource liaison by facilitating access to existing behavioral health and wellness resources (Encompass EAP community providers). Develops and maintains referral relationships with communitybased behavioral health providers to decrease barriers to securing timely psychological and psychiatric support for staff seeking referrals. Provides consultative support to caregivers seeking referral to appropriate behavioral health providers including education about most efficient and effective use of behavioral health resources.
  • Develops original presentations and trainings grounded in evidencebased approaches to wellbeing and professional fulfillment.
  • Aids in oversight of peer support programming. Leads peer supporter trainings and facilitates ongoing education and engagement with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provides group or 1:1 psychological first aid and rapidresponse support following traumatic events that impact entire units or care teams.
  • Shares responsibility for nonurgent liaison line.

Qualifications

Required

  • Masters Degree Social Work or Behavioral Health field
  • 5 years of relevant experience post graduate clinical counseling
  • 5 years of relevant experience in a health care setting
  • Advanced level of clinical experience and familiarity with and expertise in responding to complex and sensitive workplace issue physicians face
  • Experience facilitating groups particularly leading acute debriefing groups following traumatic events and knowledge of group therapeutic factors
  • One of the following certifications upon hire:
    • Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) State of Michigan Or
    • Professional Counselor (LPC) State of Michigan Or
    • Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) State of Michigan Or
    • Psychologist State of Michigan

Preferred

  • Doctorate Psychology
  • Experience in course development/facilitation
  • Experience with crisis hotline/intervention services
  • Experience with substance use disorder
