About JMU:

General Information:
JMU Parking and Transit Services is seeking students for parttime employment in its enforcement and special events programs. Student employees are expected to work a minimum of 8 hours per week but may work a maximum of 20 hours per week if they choose.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Patrol campus and issue citations to vehicles parked in violation of JMUs parking regulations.
Participate in parking operations for campus special events.
Assist visitors with directions and general campus information.
Qualifications:
Comfortable interacting with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
Capable of working efficiently without direct supervision.
Able to work outdoors on foot in a variety of weather conditions.
Flexibility to work alone or to divide responsibilities with a partner or team.
Additional Posting Information:
Students set their own schedule in 2hour increments with the exception of occasional mandatory special events.
As a condition of employment students are expected to return to campus early to assist in movein operations at the beginning of the academic year and to remain on campus at the end of the year to work moveout and graduation. Special arrangements are made for students living on campus to arrive early and remain after exams.
Regular hours are available from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday Thursday 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM Friday 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday.
Conditions of Employment:
Students must be degreeseeking students enrolled on at least a halftime basis 6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
Students must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA.
