Seasonal Maintenance Worker - SewerSurface Water Department

The City of Tukwila is seeking multipleSeasonal Maintenance Workers to join our team in the Sewer/Surface Water Department.

The Public Works Department creates a foundation for high quality of life in Tukwila by protecting the health and safety of residents visitors and businesses. Most of the work is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Occasionally they are required to respond to emergencies after hours in addition to their normal shift.

This is a seasonal/temporary position and will not exceed 1040 hours in a 12month period. Hours are expected to be 6:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Monday Thursday or Tuesday Friday; however hours could vary depending upon business needs.

Wage:$22.00 per hour

Clean and sweep roadways sidewalks and surrounding areas to remove rubbish debris and vegetation.

Paint fire hydrants.

Work in and around sewer pump stations and assist in surface water repairs and related work.

Directs and controls traffic to include placing traffic cones and signs; flagging traffic; and closing lanes and streets.

Other duties vary based on specific responsibilities for each position.

Physical ability sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position for extended periods of time under varying weather conditions.

Minimum Qualifications: (A) Must possess a valid Drivers License or the ability to obtain one prior to employment; (B) Must be a minimum of 18 years old; (C) Must be able to work with limited supervision.

Desired Qualifications:(A) Flagging certification card; (B) CPR/First Aid Card.
