About this role

Business Unit Overview:

BlackRock Finance and Strategy consists of Finance professionals in disciplines such as Corporate Accounting Financial Planning Accounting Policy Tax Business Management Treasury and Corporate Strategy. The Finance Platform Strategies (FPS) group is responsible for longterm management of the Finance operating platform which includes both thirdparty as well as proprietary solutions and technology initiatives which span all of the above disciplines.

Role Description:

The FPS group drives the strategic vision for and implementation of initiatives to enhance our platform capabilities and delivers daytoday oversight and management of the platform. The team collaborates closely with partners across the Finance organization and BlackRocks Aladdin Engineering team.

We are seeking a detailoriented developer to join our analytics Center of Excellence in our Gurgaon office. The role will initially include substantial handson PowerBI Dashboard development to familiarize about BlackRocks unique technology ecosystem and data flows. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data visualization analytics and asset management industry.

Core responsibilities will include:

This role will be responsible for designing developing and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to various stakeholders across the firm. Provide leadership in helping to establish design standards and best practices for other dashboard developers within the Finance department.

  • Create visually appealing and interactive dashboards using PowerBI to support business decisionmaking. Perform data analysis to identify trends and patterns then creatively develop visualizations which will empower users to do further analysis and gain new insights.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources ensuring data accuracy and consistency. Leverage Snowflake repository and collaborate with Snowflake developers to incorporate new data sources and extend data model.
  • Understand how to structure data models including relationships between tables to support efficient and accurate reporting.
  • Work closely with business analysts data engineers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into efficient Snowflake solutions.
  • Continuously improve and optimize existing dashboards for better performance and user experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology Finance or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in data visualization and dashboard development using PowerBI
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying Snowflake and in DAX for creating complex calculations and measures within Power BI strong understanding of data warehousing concepts. Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript for automation and advanced data manipulation.
  • Familiarity with financial services industry Asset Mgt in particular
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information to nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with other data visualization and datadriven tools and technologies e.g. Tableau Cognos Analytics TM1 Python
  • Certification in PowerBI
  • Experience with cloudbased data platforms: Snowflake Oracle Financials
  • Experience with Agile development methodology
