Senior Windows Systems Engineer

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer with extensive experience in Microsoft 365 administration mobile device management (Intune) and identity management solutions including Active Directory (AD) and Entra ID. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in automation infrastructure management and virtualization with strong capabilities in leveraging automation toolswithin Windows environments.

As an onsite/hybrid employee you are expected to be in the Chicago office on Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and support solutions leveraging MS Azure.
• Expertlevel configuration and management of Entra ID ensuring robust identity and access management.
• Design engineer and manage virtual desktop solutions such as Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Windows 365.
• Engineer and manage M365 office and email infrastructure DNS and certificates lifecycle.
• Manage Windows devices leveraging Intune Mobile Device Management (MDM).
• Develop automation solutions for Windows infrastructure utilizing platforms such as Power Platform and scripting tools including PowerShell.
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) techniques to automate infrastructure provisioning configuration and maintenance processes.
• Manage and optimize Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps.
• Deploy comprehensive monitoring solutions ensuring realtime visibility leveraging native Azure capabilities and other 3rd party solutions.
• Provide timely response to system performance issues.
• Diagnoses complex issues performing root cause analysis and providing longterm solutions.
• Coordinate with external vendors and internal stakeholders including clearly communicating technical information to nontechnical teams.
• Apply and understand security best practices leveraging Microsoft Identity Access Management (IAM) and Conditional Access Policies to ensure secure access to resources.
• Stay current with emerging technologies industry trends and best practices through continuous learning and active participation in relevant industry events.
• Available for occasional offhours breakfix patching and application deployment support.

Qualifications:

• 812 years of handson IT Engineering experience
• Strong background in automation scripting (PowerShell) and infrastructure automation techniques.
• Experience supporting technical solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure
• Extensive experience in Microsoft 365 administration and virtual desktop technologies.
• Expertlevel proficiency in Entra ID and MDM solutions
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines particularly using GitHub and Azure DevOps.
• Proficiency in diagnosing complex issues performing root cause analysis and providing longterm solutions.
• Experience optimizing Microsoft environments for performance scalability and reliability.
• Commitment to continuous improvement learning and staying abreast of industry developments.

• 95 public cloud hosted (Azure & AWS) with an emphasis on PaaS services
• Mostly a Microsoft shop though diversifying by the day (Azure Platform Services Azure SQL Azure Service Bus .NET python angular etc.
• 50/50 custom developed software vs. off the shelf enterprise software solutions & SaaS

It is expected that the annual base salary range for this Chicagobased position will be $125000 $140000. Actual base salary may vary based on factors such as individuals experience skills and qualifications for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on factors such as individual team and company performance as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
