Job Description

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Health Resource Division Pharmacy and Drug Rebate.

This position is responsible for administration and operation of the Federal Drug Rebate Program for Montana Medicaid and Medicaid Expansion and the voluntary drug rebate program for Healthy Montana Kids (HMK). This position is also responsible for reconciling historical pharmacy and medical claim information in order to maximize drug rebate collection. This position must apply Federal guidelines in the development and automation of a method to accumulate drug utilization pricing rebate information generate invoices to manufacturers receivables and account for funds collected identify and resolve invoice and data errors respond to manufacturers inquiries resolve disputes formulate edits to ensure accurate data from the claims processing system and evaluate the effectiveness of the program and assure compliance of the agency with applicable state and federal laws.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity

  • General knowledge of Medicaid medical terminology and basic medical billing practices.
  • Knowledge of program management principles and practices.
  • Ability to research interpret and apply laws rules and regulations.
  • Meet minimum qualifications:
    • Bachelors Degree in a human services business public administration or a related field.
    • One year of jobrelated work experience
    • High school graduate or postsecondary level training in accounting financial management or experience in medical billing medical records and coding may substitute for experience on a yearforyear basis. Equivalent progressively responsible experience can substitute for formal education on a casebycase basis.
    • Experience with medical billing medical coding systems data analysis or other medical programs are preferred.
    • Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a casebycase basis.

This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective July 1 2025.
