Who We Are:
Washington State Department of Services for the Blind is working together with individuals who are Blind DeafBlind or Low Vision so they can flourish in their homes communities and workplaces. DSBs Vocational Rehabilitation program assists individuals with visual disabilities achieve gainful employment and economic vitality through integration into the nations workforce while assisting businesses with accessibility training consultation recruitment and retention of qualified employees. Together these services lead to the greater employment of qualified Blind Deaf Blind and Low Vision individuals and more accessible and diverse businesses.

About the Opportunity:
As the Fiscal Analyst 3 you will independently perform specialized fiscal activities and financial analysis that directly support agency wide service delivery programs and offices. In this role you will assist in maintaining and controlling the agencys accounting systems and fiscal services. This position requires a working knowledge of practices procedures and principles of governmental accounting auditing and budgeting as well as statewide financial computer systems.

Required Qualifications:
This position may be filled at the Fiscal Analyst 2 (FA2 or Fiscal Analyst 3 (FA3 level depending on qualifications. Advancement to the next level will be based upon the successful completion of an established InTraining Plan.

What is an intraining planThe intraining is intended to provide an opportunity for an individual to gain the required experience on the job as part of a formal intraining plan. Upon successful completion of an intraining program the incumbent will move up to the next job classification that is listed on the intraining plan if applicable.

Required Qualifications for Fiscal Analyst 2 (Range $3811 $5117 monthly:

OR
  • Any combination of relevant experience and education in accounting auditing or relevant financial field totaling five 5 years.

Required Qualifications for Fiscal Analyst 3$4410 $5929 monthly):
  • Bachelors degree which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting auditing or budgeting; AND
  • Two 2 years of relevant professional experience in accounting auditing or a relevant financial field. NOTE:Professional experience may substitute for education but not usually for the credit hours.
  • Solid working knowledge of practices procedures and principles of governmental accounting auditing and budgeting.
  • Masters degree in a financial related field certification as a Public Accountant Internal Auditor Certified Governmental Financial Manager or Management Accountant can be substituted for professional experience.
OR
  • Any combination of relevant experience and education in accounting auditing or relevant financial field totaling five 6 years.

  • Ability to review analyze and problem solve large amounts of data
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate information clearly both verbally and in writing including providing effective guidance to others
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow through
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or assignments at the same time
  • Ability to identify issues analyze and provide multiple solutions and impacts
  • Demonstrated ability to follow strict federal and state rules and regulations
  • Team oriented with the ability to work and participate in teams including ability to work collaboratively with team members
  • Customer service focused
