Job Description:
We are looking for software engineer for web development to join our team at the Pratt & Whitney India Engineering Center (IEC) in Bengaluru India. The successful candidate will join the EDSI Aftermarket engineering organizations team responsible for the development deployment and support of gamechanging software applications which includes the automation of both technical and business processes that will enable Pratt & Whitney to continually push the state of the art in engineering processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn and understand the needs of the engineering organization and translate those needs into clear software requirements which will drive the design development and testing of highquality software for the engineering organization.
- Develop new usercentric pages components and apps.
- Ensure feasibility and excellent user experience.
- Setup scalable server infrastructure and databases in the cloud environment.
- Opportunity for full stack development and being involved in all stages of the software development process.
- Exhibit the project leadership in terms of milestones schedules & quality of deliverables.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree (with 8 yr experience) or Advanced degree (with 7 yr experience) in Engineering Software Engineering or Computer Science.
- 5 year of experience in ANY of the following: Python JavaScript HTML SQL CSS.
- 4 years of experience in full stack software development.
- Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug issues efficiently.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams.
- Strong developer who is comfortable learning new languages libraries and frameworks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of serverside languages and frameworks such as Django (Python) / (Node).
- Expertise in building user interfaces and experiences with React / .
- Proficiency in working with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL MySQL)
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Understanding of DevOps principles and experience with deployment processes on Azure/AWS.
- Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
