JOB DESCRIPTIONAssociate Director of Technology for Instructional Technology

Supervises: Assigned Staff

JOB SUMMARY

Coordinates and supervises all aspects of instructional technology in the district including technology integration technology standards and professional development

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Work with district and school leaders to ensure all students have access to the technology necessary to participate in authentic and engaging learning opportunities.
  • Model and encourage use of technology to increase equity inclusion and digital citizenship practices.
  • Participate in the development of a technology vision district technology plan that supports the district strategic plan and ongoing evaluation cycle for transforming learning with technology.
  • Coordinate the technology education program for Fayette County Public Schools.
  • Share lessons learned best practices and the impact of learning with technology with other education leaders both inside and outside of the district.
  • Assist district and school leaders in developing and adopting a shared vision for using technology to improve student success informed by the learning sciences.
  • Develop implement and monitor plans for effective use of technology in all schools. Plans include but are not limited to professional learning and the technology component of the districts consolidated plan.
  • Model and encourage the creation of a culture where teachers and learners are empowered to use technology in innovative ways to enrich teaching and learning.
  • Coordinate the work of district and schoolbased instructional technology staff including Digital Learning Coaches STEM Learning Coaches Technology Resource Teachers School Technology Coordinators Student Technology Leadership Program Coordinators and any other staff who support instructional use of technology.
  • Plan and implement professional learning opportunities for staff at the school and district level around effective use of technology for teaching and learning.
  • Provide guidance around effective technology practices and staffing to administrators SBDM councils and district and schoollevel committees and workgroups.
  • Oversee and promote the Student Technology Leadership Program and other technology programs.
  • Lead and participate in training conferences and professional learning networks to collaboratively learn with and mentor other professionals.
  • Engage in school community and public relations activities pertaining to instructional technology.
  • Disseminate information pertaining to instructional technology to teachers parents staff and community.
  • Coordinate with technical support staff to ensure access to technology.
  • Coordinate and advise in the selection and purchase of instructional software hardware and other digital resources.
  • Assist in development of Board policies related to technology standards procurement usage maintenance and support.
  • Advises district staff on issues related to proper procedures and practices as they relate to instructional technology.
  • Promote compliance with governmental standards copyright board policy and acceptable use policies related to technology.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate in more than one language or the willingness to learn to communicate in more than one language at the novice level of proficiency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular attendance.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Masters Degree in Education
  • Certification in Educational Supervision or Administration
  • Minimum three 3 years successful teaching experience
  • Training and/or experience in educational technology

Licenses or Certifications:

  • Valid Kentucky Teaching Certificate
  • Kentucky certification for Supervision or Administration

  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech vision and hearing
