Position Summary
:

The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for implementing and executing the mission philosophy and vision for HwalBay Ba:J Enterprises Inc. (dba. Grand Canyon Resort Corporation) under the sole direction of the Board of Directors. Directs and manages all senior level corporate officers directors and managers. Ensures the efficiency quality and service of operations resulting in maximum profitability and growth. Develop and implement short mid and longterm strategic plans to maximize revenues and increase the Corporations position in the industry. Provides direction and leadership towards the achievement of the Corporations strategic annual goals and objectives. Reviews operations to evaluate performance of the Corporation and the staff in meeting objectives and to determine potential cost reductions program improvements or policy changes. Seeks and facilitates new business development in accordance with the strategic plan and current and evolving business trends. In conjunction with the CFO projects annual revenues and expenses with the guidance and input of the Board of Directors. Recommends an annual budget to the Board of Directors for approval and prudently manages resources within the budget guidelines according to applicable policies regulations and laws. Supports the interface between the Corporation and the Hualapai Tribal Council when the Tribal Council is acting in its capacity as designated representative of the Corporations shareholders. At the direction of the Board of Directors acts as the corporate liaison with Federal State and Tribal governmental entities. At the direction of the Board of Directors functions as the primary corporate spokesperson for media and public relations regarding corporate activities and new product development. Promotes a positive corporate culture through teambuilding and effective management of human and capital resources. The CEO reports directly and solely to the Board of Directors. They are responsible for the overall workload productivity development motivation and performance of direct reports. The individual in this position is expected to lead a CSuite team that promotes an employeeoriented highperformance culture which emphasizes involvement efficiency and a positive & productive working environment. This position will act as a Hualapai ambassador and in the best interests of the Hualapai Tribe at all times.

Duties & Responsibilities
:

1. Provides regular updates to the Board of Directors. At the direction of the Board of Directors also provides updates to the Hualapai Tribal Council acting in its capacity as the designated representative of the Corporations shareholders.
2. Plans directs and coordinates the operational activities of the Corporation. Ensures the efficiency quality and service of operations resulting in maximum profitability and growth.
3. Projects annual revenues and expenses with the CFO and with the guidance and input of the Board of Directors. Working with the CFO and with the guidance and input of the Board of Directors recommends the annual budget to the Board of Directors for approval. Once approved manages resources within the budget guidelines according to current policies regulations and laws. With the CFO reports any actual or pending material deviation from the annual budget.
4. Develops and implements short mid and longterm strategic plans to maximize revenues and increase the companys position in the industry. Seeks and facilitates new business development in accordance with the strategic plan and current evolving business trends. Coordinates contractual negotiations and vendor relations with GCRCs New Business Development Committee Board of Directors and Legal Counsel.
5. At the direction of the Board of Directors works with the Corporations Legal Counsel in general matters including litigation.
6. Reviews operations to evaluate performance of the Corporation and of staff in meeting objectives and to determine potential cost reductions program improvements or policy changes. Enforces policies in an unbiased manner. Enforces adherence to operating procurement property accounting fiduciary and other policies of the Corporation.
7. At the direction of the Board of Directors acts as the corporate liaison with Federal State and Tribal governmental entities such as Federal Aviation Administration National Park Service Tribal Environmental Review Commission etc. At the direction of the Board of Directors represents the Corporation at legislative sessions committee meetings and at formal functions. At the direction of the Board of Directors functions as the primary corporate spokesperson for media and public relations regarding corporate activities and new product development.
8. At the direction of the Board of Directors supports the interface between the Corporation and the Hualapai Tribal Council sitting as the designated representative of the Corporations shareholders. Presents the annual corporate report at the Annual Shareholder meeting and presents other reports and information as directed by the shareholders at additional Shareholder meetings instituted by the Corporations shareholders.
9. Acts as corporate liaison regarding the Hualapai culture and its relationship to tourism in consultation with the Hualapai Cultural Advisory Board.
10. Promotes a positive corporate culture through teambuilding and effective management of human and capital resources. Fosters an environment of continuous performance improvement and development of corporate employees.
11. Supervises the Executive Staff and delegates appropriately in order to maximize executive productivity.
12. Fulfills other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors including general fiduciary duties as required of a CEO.

Knowledge and Abilities
:

1. Thorough knowledge and understanding of financial statements and the ability to project revenues and expenses of existing and new business operations as well as effectively calculate and project ROI.
2. Demonstrated ability to drive revenues and control expenses.
3. Proven ability to think creatively in a multitude of different areas of business operations. These include but are not limited to: sales marketing advertising operations human capital business growth and development capital asset management new business engagement and more.
4. Working knowledge of contract management and the ability to consult with legal counsel regarding matters relating to contracts and business development.
5. Impeccable responsiveness to demands of Board of Directors proven ability to respond and execute executive leadership vision with little need for direction or followup. Ability to streamline requests for adjustment or pivot on short notice and remain calm and professional under stressful or adverse circumstances.
6. Demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse population of employees and external contacts. Native American Business operations experience required.
7. Demonstrated ability to lead coach train develop and motivate employees.
8. Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
9. Demonstrated ability to lead CSuite executives and support Board of Directors in executing highlevel visionary strategies and a proven ability to achieve results and meet bottom line performance goals.
10. Demonstrated ability to perform and execute as a CEO as well as interact with a Board of Directors and Tribal Council on a regular basis and make frequent presentations and proposals to the Board and Council. Demonstrated ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
11. Demonstrated ability to foster a team environment multitask efficiently and maintain positive working relationships.
12. Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear concise manner and handle escalated issues or team members/guests that are not happy. Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.

Qualifications
:

1. Bachelors degree in business administration or another related field required. Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of a degree; two years experience will count as one year of college.
2. Minimum of ten 10 years of executive leadership level experience as the top executive of a medium to large corporation in the hospitality industry at organizations with multiple business units required.
3. Proven track record and demonstrated ability to increase revenue yearoveryear for business operations with multiple business units required.
4. Demonstrated ability in analyzing advising and executing new business ventures including thorough understanding of interpreting financial data and projecting short & long term ROI required.
5. Experience working for a Tribal entity preferred.
6. Preference given to Hualapai Tribal members.

Physical Demands
:

1. While performing the duties of this position the team member is regularly required to stand sit walk push pull bend for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; talk and listen on a regular basis.
2. The Team Member must be able to concentrate for prolonged periods.
3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision and depth perception.
4. The Team Member must be able to communicate effectively in person or using telecommunications equipment.
5. Must have the handeye coordination and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard touchscreen display telephone and calculator.
6. Frequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.

Conditions of Employment
:

1. Must be able to provide authorization to work in the United States.
2. Must be at least 18 years of age.
3. Must possess a valid drivers license with a clean driving record and be able to obtain approval to operate a company vehicle.
4. Must comply with the GCRC Team Member Handbook internal policies and procedures and all rules and regulations set within GCRC and the Tribe.

Working Conditions
:

Work environment will be an office setting with occasional assignments in outdoor environments in multiple business locations. This will involve exposure to extreme weather conditions including but not limited to: heat cold wind rain and snow. Occasional travel (local and statewide) for meetings assignments and regular job tasks. Extended and irregular hours evenings weekends and holidays may be needed on occasion to meet business needs. Must be able to perform under pressure and work under stressful conditions. May be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve issues with irate Team Members both current and former as well as external guests.

Grand Canyon Resort Corporation (GCRC) is whollyowned by the Hualapai Tribe and is located in Peach Springs Arizona. In 1988 the Hualapai People who have been part of this land since time immemorial established GCRC welcoming millions of visitors each year to tour the area. The year 1883 is when the reservation was established and occupiers are usually foreign to the land they occupy. To further increase tourism in the area the Grand Canyon Skywalk was built in 2007. The Skywalk is a glass horseshoeshaped bridge that enables visitors to walk beyond the canyon walls at Grand Canyon West suspending them 4000 feet above the riverbed and providing an unparalleled view of this natural wonder.
