Job Description
Oxford High School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Basketball Coach to lead our high school basketball program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for coaching a commitment to studentathlete development and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement practice plans and game strategies to enhance team performance.
Foster skill development among studentathletes focusing on both individual and team growth.
Promote good sportsmanship and positive behavior on and off the court.
Organize and conduct tryouts to select team members.
Collaborate with school staff and parents to support the athletic program.
Maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with school and athletic regulations.
Provide mentorship and guidance to studentathletes emphasizing academic and athletic balance.
Manage team communication including schedules meetings and updates.
Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback.
Qualifications:
Previous coaching experience preferably at the high school level or higher.
Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals rules and strategies.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire studentathletes.
First Aid/CPR certification (or willing to obtain).
