Job Description

The Opportunity:

Seeking a highly motivated individual to join the investment team in the role of a junior fixed income trader. Our fixed income & credit alternative strategies provide actively managed global exposures in a nonequity correlated asset class. Our strategies aim to protect against interest rate risk. Guarding against the potential loss of capital that could occur if interest rates rise and as a direct result bond prices fall. In addition we actively manage the credit and geographic exposures of each of our strategies. With a focus on absolute returns and low correlations to equity markets these strategies form an important part of our clients asset mix.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and work closely with portfolio managers on cash management activities for fixed income funds as well as required segregated accounts.
  • Monitor dayto day administrative issues in support of trading activities as well as daily pnl reconciliation.
  • Monitor market activity in global fixed income markets and proactively contribute views and commentary to enhance the investment process.
  • Work in conjunction with Portfolio Managers/Traders to formulate and recommend profitable trade ideas for various trading strategies.
  • Monitor risk to ensure that hedging and cash balances are maintained within fund limits
  • Engage with internal technology and analytics groups to enhance systems analytics and trading activity.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate/Graduate Degree(s) in relevant subject such as Business Economics Mathematics Engineering.
  • CFA (or enrollment in program) and/or CA highly regarded
  • Understanding of bond formulas basics of credit/rate derivatives macro risk factors and implications for risk management.
  • Exceptional understanding of fixed income markets and valuation analysis
  • Effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with multiple partners and stakeholders
  • Positive and efficient approach to market challenges
  • Highly computer literate with advanced spreadsheet skills.
  • Strong work ethic with high level of selfmotivation and ability to work well within the team environment
