Job Description
We are seeking material planners who will play a critical role in managing the flow of materials and ensuring that production schedules are met efficiently. This person will collaborate closely with various departments to optimize inventory levels improve demand planning and support overall production goals. The ideal candidate for this role possesses strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of supply chain management processes and has experience working with automotive production schedules MES Scheduling Solutions justintime (JIT) and sequencing methodologies. What Youll Be Doing:
Manages the flow of materials and ensures that production schedules are met efficiently. Utilizes strong analytical skills and deep understanding of supply chain management processes. Collaborates closely with various departments to optimize inventory levels improves demand planning and supports overall production goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.Others as assigned.
- Develop and maintain material plans based on sequence automotive schedules 866 ensuring materials are available in the right quantities and at the right time.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to align with sequencedriven production requirements avoiding shortages or overstock situations.
- Collaborate closely with production teams to adjust material plans in realtime based on sequence schedules and production changes.
- Release materials and components from supplier according to sequence schedules ensuring suppliers can meet justintime delivery requirements.
- Work closely with production engineering and logistics teams to ensure material availability aligns with sequence production schedules and justintime needs.
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams facilitating communication to resolve any issues related to sequence scheduling and material flow.
- Ensure all materials and processes comply with automotive industry standards and customerspecific requirements (e.g. JIT Kanban or sequencing requirements).
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders deliveries and material inventory tracking compliance with sequence schedules.
- Provide regular reports on material procurement and inventory status in relation to sequence production schedules for senior management.
Schedule:This position will primarily workeight or more hours per day five days per week based on business needs and will primarily be daytime hours.
EXPERIENCE
- Five or more years of experience inmaterial planning and procurement within the automotive industry including handson experience managing sequence automotive schedules 866
- Demonstrated expertise in managing material flows in alignment with sequencebased or justintime production schedules.
- Proven experience working with automotive production schedules MES Scheduling Solutions justintime (JIT) and sequencing methodologies.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES THAT ENABLE YOU TO SUCCEED
- Understanding of the supply chain management process and an ability to develop a strong understanding of production processes and capabilities how data is captured and used internally to make decisions.
- Ability to collaborate with coworkers customers and suppliers. Build rapport and develop alliances; adjusts communication style to meet the needs at various levels within organization.
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail. Reliable and diligent with the ability to work efficiently w while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration Engineering or a related field. In lieu of degree equivalent years of relevant experience and training will be considered.
- Certifications such as CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) are preferred.
