We are seeking a talented Junior Design Architect (InHouse Design)to join our growing inhouse design team! Be part of the reimagination of our brand as we plan to renovate 1/3 of our portfolio in the next 3 years.

The Junior Design Architect will work closely with Interior Designers as well as independently to produce quality construction drawings incorporating furniture fixtures and equipment (FF&E) materials custom millwork and MEP items (HVAC Electrical Plumbing).

The Junior Design Architect must have excellent organizational skills be selfmotivated and have high energy for a fastpaced office.

Location: Omni Hotels & Resorts Corporate Office Dallas TX (NOT hybrid / remote)

• Collaborates with Senior Interior Designer and/or Senior Director of Interior Design and project team to develop concepts and ideas creating functional space plans elevations sections details (including millwork) and 3D models for continuing design development for both renovations and creating new spaces for Omni Hotels and Resorts.
• Produces content for all project construction documentation under supervision of Senior Interior Designer and/or Senior Director of Interior Design or Director of Interior Design Project Coordination. This will include drawing furniture layouts for all guestroom types.
• Draws and coordinates design details and drawings with external consultants such as architect lighting designer landscape architects F&B equipment designer AV consultants millwork fabricators accessibility consultant etc. (as necessary based on scale and complexity of a project) under supervision of Senior Interior Designer and/or Senior Director of Interior Design and/or Director of Interior Design Project Coordination as part of an individual effort (depending on scale of project).
• Coordinates with the project team during all phases of the project to clearly convey the design intent.
• Develops and implements design of all interior architectural details for the project based on the teams design intent.
• Assists in the review of submittals and RFIs for design intent and coordination with the design team.
• Reviews GC submittals millwork shop drawings architectural finishes lighting submittals plumbing submittals etc.
• Coordinates with the project managers if questions arise throughout the project.
• Conducts preliminary field surveys for project interior design scope verification with Senior project team.
• Conducts onsite project punch as part of a team or individual effort (depending on scale of project).
• Develops GC punch lists meeting minutes and field reports under supervision of Senior Interior Designer and or/ Senior Director of Interior Design and/or Director of Interior Design Project Coordination.
• Creates individual milestones and adhere to project schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
• Works with designers as well as independently to produce drawings at 4 phases: Schematic Design Design Development Construction Documentation and Construction Administration.
• Sketch up Modeling
  • Models objects in a 2D/3D environment and understand the relationship between the virtual world and reality
  • Produces images of objects/spaces to convey the mood of the projects
  • Manages different elements in the software and understand how they are presented
  • Produces 2D images or 3D walkthroughs of objects/spaces using tools such as Sketch Up Photoshop (or similar)
• Product Research and Specifications:
  • Selects architectural products and finishes for projects
• Code Compliance:
  • Understands and implements code reviews to ensure design compliance
• Contract Documentation:
  • Produces documents for building project filing and construction using CAD
  • Adheres to Omni CAD Standards
• Facilitates renderings with external renderers
• Travels to job sites for preproject inspections construction reports and installations
• Works on multiple projects simultaneously
• Participates in company events takes initiative and contributes to the overall culture and success of Omni Hotels & Resorts

• Bachelors degree from an accredited 4 or 5year Architecture program or related field of study or a Masters degree from an accredited Architecture program.
• Minimum of 35 plus years of experience in the field of Interior Architecture.
• Hospitality Food & Beverage or Luxury Residential experience a plus.
• Space planning and understanding of design process.
• Strong balance of technical knowledge and architectural/interior design skills in all phases of architectural and interiors projects.
• Familiarity with building codes and regulations including ADA ANSI Fair Housing and local amendments of IBC.
• Collaborative and team oriented.
• Proactive with strong leadership skills.
• Understands the components of construction drawings and specifications
• Proven ability to handle shifting priorities timelines and demands in a fastpaced deadline driven working environment.
• Excellent time management and organization skills.
• Strong interpersonal verbal written and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and keen eye for aesthetics.
• Travel approximately 5 of time.
• Proficiency in the following programs:
  • AutoCAD
  • Adobe Photoshop Illustrator Indesign
  • 3D software such as SketchUp and/or Rhino
  • Adobe Acrobat and BluebeamMicrosoft Office including Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook
