CLASS TITLE: PrincipalHigh School
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
BASICFUNCTION: To use leadership supervisory and administrative skills soas to promote the educational development of each student.
REPRESENTATIVEDUTIES: Serve as the instructional leader and guides facilitates andsupports the curriculum instruction and assessment.
Apply concepts of curriculum research theory and design to achieve academic expectations.
Promote multicultural awareness gender sensitivity andracial and ethnic appreciation.
Assess needs of the student population and availableresources and uses this information to align mission of theschool with student needs.
Allocate and manage resources (staff materials dollars andtime) to effectively and accountable ensure successfulstudent learning.
Supervise and evaluate all personnel assigned to the school.
Administer and supervise the maintenance of the physicalfacilities.
Provide liaison with students parents staff parent groupscommunity agencies and promote positive public andschoolcommunity relations.
Enforce appropriate state and federal regulations SchoolBoard policies administrative directives and accreditationstandards.
Manages and maintains appropriate records for all localschool fiscal affairs in accordance with state and systemwide accounting practices.
Provide leadership to the school based decisionmakingcouncil and related committees.
Provide leadership to parent organizations related toacademic athletic and gifted programs.
Provide leadership for the planning management andsupervision of the board program of athletics.
Provide leadership for the planning management andsupervision of an extensive extracurricular program.
Provide leadership and direction of guidance programs.
Models and facilitates professional growth of staff in the areaof technology.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
EDUCATION ANDEXPERIENCE: Holds a masters degree and completion of one year ofadvanced graduate work beyond the masters degree inschool administration and/or curriculum.
Holds a valid Kentucky certification for middle school/highschool principalship.
Has had direct experience in curriculum development as ateacher or administrator.
Has the ability to develop a budget exercise budgetarycontrol monitor the budget and maintain all necessary
records.
Has demonstrated ability to communicate effectively withstudents faculty school parents and community.
Has demonstrated educational leadership ability.
Has demonstrated ability to work effectively with peers andstudents.
Has at least three years of successful teaching experience.
