In this position

The HR Shared Service Specialist works under general direction and acts as a trusted People First (Fords HR support team) representative to local colleagues and employees in California. Through the cultivation of deep relationships contextual knowledge within their assigned team and the application of process/policy expertise(particularly relevant California state laws / regulations) this role will support the resolution of complex detailed and highly visible HRrelated inquiries transactions escalations and projects. Essential responsibilities include modeling customer service excellence and proactively developing solutions that enhance employee experiences and systemically solve process challenges. Preference will be given to candidates local to (or willing to relocate to) Long Beach or Palo Alto.



Responsibilities

What youll do

  • Intake strategically prioritize and apply policy/process expertise to resolve HR policy/process inquiries transactions and escalations especially those that are executivelevel highvisibility and/or complex (e.g. leaves of absence paycheck discrepancies final pay disbursement position changes understanding of relevant California state laws / regulations is critical.
  • Leverage critical thinking skills and curiosity to deeply understand contextual nuance and anticipate issues downstream impacts and connection points to other processes to deliver work with excellence.
  • Liaise between/delegate action (when appropriate) to People First colleagues and key partners (e.g. Benefits Payroll Mobility etc.. Monitor closely to ensure efficient and accurate resolution.
  • Participate in the delivery of special projects and initiatives. Such projects include organizational designs which require mass position changes/HCM data alignment job architecture position management and other data cleanup and integrity maintenance exercises (e.g. work location alignment). These may require varied reporting needs that become nuanced by organization.
  • Proactively identify systemic issues and develop rootcause solutions that enhance the employee experience and may be scaled across teams/functions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the assigned CHROs team and customer groups including attending HR team meetings to build the contextual knowledge and collaborative relationships required to serve as a trusted point of contact to local employees and colleagues.
  • Model customer service excellence to the broader People First Team including sharing learnings and best practices.


Qualifications

Youll have

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Organizational Development or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience.
  • 3 years of work experience supporting Californiabased employees in Human Resources or a related field.

Even better you may have

  • Experience in systems used by Ford HR (i.e. Oracle Visier etc..
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Prior experience working as an HR Business Partner or related customerfacing role.
  • Superior relationshipbuilding and communication skills.
  • Critical thinker mindset who anticipates challenges and acts proactively.
  • Ability to strategically triage work and execute with agility and attention to detail.
  • Development mindset who pursues opportunities to grow knowledge and skills in diverse disciplines and situations.

This position is a salary grade 7.
