The VP of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all the financial affairs of the company including budgeting and forecasting capital project financial planning stakeholder management periodic and ad hoc financial reporting as well as regulatory and statutory compliance. The VP of Finance will also support capital raising efforts investor relations and customer and financing negotiations and provide guidance on appropriate capital allocation and capital structure risks and returns perspective and the financial implications of all business decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
LEADERSHIP
Oversee the entire financial operation and lead the finance function of the company across the different operating jurisdictions.
Provide guidance on financing strategy to ensure appropriate and optimal capital structure.
Support the CEO and appointed financial advisors on all capital raising efforts in international markets.
Lead the preparation of financial models and support the development of information pack for all capital raises and for customer pricing negotiations and contract renewals.
Get visibility and provide inputs into all customer financing and supplier agreements to ensure financial soundness and business plan alignment.
Provide financial advice recommendations and guidance to challenge conventions and support business operations and activities projects resource utilization and decisionmaking processes across the Group.
Collaborate with the management team to evaluate opportunities to grow revenue preserve and expand margins and on strategic initiatives such as acquisitions new business development and expansion projects.
STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT & INVESTOR RELATIONS
Maintain strong relationships with the investment stakeholders including lenders equity investors and capital markets.
Provide adequate information to support the Board of Directors on strategic and governance decisions as needed.
Manage relationships with auditors banks and tax authorities to advance the companys objectives and ensure
compliance to all requirements.
Oversee investment of funds and work with investment bankers to raise additional capital required for expansion.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND REPORTING
Ensure accurate compliant and ontime preparation and delivery of all external and internal reports.
Lead the planning and of the annual budgeting process and ensure alignment with the companys longterm plans.
Manage the budget along with actual and periodic rolling forecasts with a focus on assessing key financial ratios and performance indicators and understand deviations from plans.
Analyze companys financial results with respect to profits trends costs and compliance with budgets and
communicate appropriate and required actions to the management teams.
Drive indepth performance reviews scenario planning financial forecasting and rootcause analysis to provide
insights into the business performance.
Ensure all financing and debt covenants are achievable measured monitored and met.
OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT
Support technical team on the periodic costing update inventory reserves review and performance to drive plant and operational profitability efficacy and efficiency.
Support the HR department with annual Human Capital Planning periodic compensation benchmarking and
strategic resourcing exercises.
Drive innovative projects that will help standardize and simplify the finance function core processes to drive
efficiency and effectiveness allow for multicountry operations real time information and scale and support various
reporting requirements.
Ensure all accounting policies and systems are adequate for the companys growth evolution.
STATUTORY CONTROL COMPLIANCE
Ensure rigorous financial controls and procedures are in place to deliver a high standard of internal control and
governance systems.
Ensure strong treasury function and maintain oversight on cash management.
Ensure all compliance with all statutory and regulatory reports including tax land and payroll.
Ensure smooth and timely completion of interim special and yearend audits.
Establish and maintain an enterprise risk management system to ensure the company is adequately protected in the different markets it operates.
ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Lead the staffing of the Finance and Supply Chain teams.
Implement training and development program for staff in line with technical and business needs.
Develop and implement necessary measures to ensure flexible work practices and team building.
Carry out performance appraisals and development plans with subordinate staff.
Oversee the rotational schedule (on and off duty) of subordinate staff.
Qualifications :
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting is mandatory.
Masters degree in Business Finance or Accounting is mandatory.
Multicultural experience is mandatory.
Professional Financial Qualification (ACA CA CPA CIMA) is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 12 years of progressive responsibility in various financial leadership roles (in the energy or
infrastructure sectors or development finance experience in emerging markets is preferred).
Deep understanding of auditing is critical. Experience in project finance and capital raising specifically in
infrastructure financing and M&A is a plus.
Strong financial planning analysis and management skills.
Ability to build financial systems and infrastructure scale the finance operations to support multicountry multiasset
portfolio.
Proficient in treasury management systems and financial software (e.g. Sage X3 SAP Oracle Kyriba).
