Job Description

STR Sensors Division is at the forefront of developing advanced signal processing algorithms and prototyping systems for nextgeneration radar and electronic warfare technologies.

The group fosters a culture of innovation and collaboration. You will be a member of a dynamic group of research engineers across STR academic researchers and industry partners to develop practical and effective solutions to RF sensing and countersensing challenges. The Role

As an Algorithm & Signal Processing Researcher youll have the opportunity to develop and work with the team to demonstrate and evaluate stateoftheart algorithms and techniques for signal detection classification autonomous sensor decisionmaking sense making radar electronic warfare electronic support measures and more.

What you will Do:

  • Design and apply cuttingedge signal processing and machine learning techniques to solve complex radar and RF sensing and countersensing challenges
  • Work with the team to develop and integrate countermeasures (including algorithm development and signal processing) and evaluate their effectiveness in laboratories and on government test ranges
  • Design and implement models and simulations for advanced RF systems
  • Support business development and proposal writing efforts
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to develop and deploy cuttingedge capabilities to prototype systems

Who you are:

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance for which U.S. citizenship is required by the U.S. Government
  • 2 years of experience in two or more of the following areas:
    • RF/radar signal processing optimization waveform design electronic warfare machine learning adaptive signal processing AI/ML algorithm development algorithm development model & simulation systems engineering test engineering radar modelling or RF systems prototyping
    • Proficiency in in one or more scientific or mathematical programming languages such as MATLAB Python and C/C
  • BS MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering Applied Mathematics Physics or related technical discipline
  • Strong mathematical troubleshooting written and verbal communication skills

Even Better:

  • Active Secret or TS/SCI Clearance
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering Applied Mathematics Physics or a related technical discipline
  • Experience with:
    • RF technologies in the defense sector particularly for sensing and electronic warfare applications including electronic attack electronic protection cognitive EW and advanced ESM techniques and algorithms
    • Experience with machine learning tasks such as natural language processing image recognition semantic segmentation reinforcement learning approaches such as Bayesian deep convolutional and graph neural network methods and tools such as PyTorch Ray TensorFlow/board and MLflow
    • Interacting with decisionmakers and customers to translate mission needs into an endtoend analytical solution
  • Ability to apply novel innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to challenging engineering problems
  • Ability to create and present briefings to customers and senior management to provide both highlevel and deep technical solution explanations
