Job Description

BLUE RIDGE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

Job Title:SPED Aide II
FLSA: NonExempthourly

TITLE: SPED Aide II

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Special Education experience preferred.
  • Valid Fingerprint clearance card issued by the AZ DPS.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with studentsstaff and the public.
  • Master Teachers ParaEducator Certificate

REPORTS TO: Principal

JOB GOAL: To contribute to effective school/public relations by prompt and courteous handling of all inquiries with students staff and the public. Promote a positive uplifting atmosphere for our school.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Life Skills (including dealing with female/male puberty).
  • Nursing/keeping medications schedules watching for signs of seizures and proper use of medical equipment.
  • Safety of Medically fragile children.
  • Communication and cooperation with general education teachers and parents.
  • Sign Language
  • Diapering feeding potty training hygiene.
  • Full time supervision of students.
  • Paperwork/documentation as requested by teachers.
  • Escorting students to and from the buses.
  • Other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 month position 35 hours per week.

EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the Governing Boards policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
