Remote: This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50mile radius of Atlanta Austin Detroit Warren Milford or Mountain View you are expected to report to that location three times a week at minimum

About the Role:

General Motors is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our Digital eCommerce team. This team is responsible for supporting the OnStar Sales team by developing and optimizing microservicesassociated to Digital Order Management and fulfillment/activation services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microservices architecture performance optimization and a passion for delivering highquality digital solutions in the eCommerce space. This role will be primarily focused on backend development ensuring the robustness and efficiency of our microservices infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design develop and optimize microservices.
• Collaborate with crossfunctionalengineeringteams to deliver seamless digital eCommerce solutions.
• Implement best practices for microservices architecture including containerization orchestration and realtime data processing.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization of existing backend microservices to meet stringent response time requirements.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive monitoring and observability solutions to ensure high availability and performance.
• Work closely with the OnStar Sales team to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Envision document communicate and train other team members on improvements to our coding standards and best practices.
• Mentor and coach fellow developers ensuring that the team meets quality standards through regular code/peerreviews and thorough testing.
• Collaborate closely with solution architects enterprise architects and/or data scientists to make sure your code aligns with design patterns and frameworks.
• Work on Proof of Concepts developing new functionality and technology while mitigating any technical risks.
• Manage daytoday domain services system issues and requests prioritizing them efficiently and managing expectations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for one or more domain services.

Additional Job Description

Qualifications:

• Bachelors orMasters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
• 7 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on backend microservices development and optimization.
• Proven track record of delivering highperformance backend microservices.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages suchasJava Python andFrontEnd Frameworksare a plus).
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes) and orchestration tools.
• Expertise in performance tuning profiling and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with realtime data streaming and eventdriven architectures.
• Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work in a fastpaced collaborative environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.

• The salary range for this role is. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
