Description
Overview:
The Mercatus Center at George Mason University is seeking an Intern as part of our Academic and Student Programs team to support general program operations staff and program management as well as office and data management. Students will learn valuable skills in operations and project management will receive handson training on and experience with various software and hardware and will gain insight into what goes on behind the scenes in the nonprofit world.
This position reports to the Operations Manager at Academic & Student Programs and works primarily at the Mercatus office located on GMUs Fairfax campus.
Responsibilities:
- Support operations with inventory shipping and office management.
- Support program staff with the planning logistics and of our fellowship programs.
- Assist with data collection and management.
- Assist program staff in running events.
Qualifications
- Excellent timemanagement skills and the ability to prioritize projects
- Attention to detail and problemsolving skills
- Effective communicator
- Interest in economics classical liberalism and public policy preferred
