Position Purpose

The Senior Director provides strategic leadership and oversight for key divisions within the Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) ensuring alignment with the agencys mission to improve health and care access for Oklahomans. This role is responsible for driving operational efficiency managing highperforming teams and leading key initiatives that support organizational growth and excellence. By fostering strong stakeholder relationships optimizing resource management and ensuring fiscal accountability the Senior Director contributes to achieving OHCAs core values of passion for purpose empowerment trust transparency and outcomedriven leadership.

Principle Activities May Include:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans that align with organizational goals and drive business growth.

  • Ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness through the optimization of processes and resource management.

  • Lead mentor and develop highperforming teams to achieve organizational objectives and foster a culture of excellence.

  • Enhance stakeholder relationships and ensure effective communication of organizational initiatives and achievements.

  • Ensure fiscal responsibility through effective budgeting resource management and financial oversight.

  • Lead and support organizational change initiatives to enhance business performance and adaptability.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.

Knowledge Skills Abilities and Competencies

This position requires indepth knowledge of agency policies state and federal legislation and strategic program administration. Strong leadership skills are essential for managing complex divisions driving operational efficiency and ensuring effective stakeholder communication. Additionally financial acumen and resource management capabilities are crucial for aligning budgets with organizational objectives.

The Korn Ferry competencies that best fit this position include Manages Complexity (to navigate and resolve multifaceted issues across divisions) and Optimizes Work Processes (to enhance efficiency and align resources with strategic goals).

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors degree and 7 years of professional business or public administration experience including 4 years in a supervisory or administrative capacity OR

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience substituting 1 year of professional or technical administrative experience in business or public administration for each year of the required education.

  • NOTE: No substitution will be allowed for the required professional experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity.

Preference may be given to candidates with:

  • Current/valid license as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Oklahoma

  • Bachelors in accounting finance business administration or a closely related field

  • Professional level experience in budgeting accounting auditing or finance

  • Governmental budget experience

  • Experience with State of Oklahoma systems (PeopleSoft Hyperion or MMIS)

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to remain sitting for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to move or lift up to 15 pounds at various times.

Work Environment

The office work environment includes regular exposure to general office equipment such as computer equipment phones and copy machines.
