Job Description

Weekly outpatient therapy isnt always enough and a trip to the ER isnt the only answer. Patients and their families rely on CompassHealth Center whenincrisis every day wehelp people overcome depression anxiety suicidality obsessions/compulsions trauma chronic pain and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

About This Role

As a group therapist you will spend the majority of your time with our patients facilitating evidenced based groups using modalities like CBT DBT and ACT. We are seeking new and experienced clinicians with a passion for delivering dynamic and informative groups for our patients. Our location in Northbrook is our first and largest facility and consists not only of our widest variety of programs but also serves as a pilot site for many of our new treatment offerings.

What Youll Do:

  • Providing group therapy to patients in a safe and therapeutic milieu
  • Assessing patients on daily basis for safety ADLs and mental status
  • Developing effective therapeutic group relationships that promote positive change in patients
  • Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to inform facilitation of group therapy sessions
  • Relaying relevant clinical information from group sessions to treatment team during rounds and as needed
  • Providing safety checks with safety plan as needed
  • Developing creative program material and curriculum and adjusting group therapy content as needed to fit group needs
  • Organizing and maintaining clinical group material to provide structure to curriculum
  • Tracking frequency of skills taught in program to ensure full breadth of CBT/DBT skills are provided
  • Documenting therapeutic processes as well as all other relevant clinical information
  • Communicating patient progress interaction and presentation to clinical staff
  • Completing discharges for patients discharging from the intensive outpatient program
  • Creating and updating treatment plans
  • Participating in professional development activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Who You Are:

  • Have one year post masters experience (preferred)
  • Hold the following licenses or education: LSW (or LSW eligible) LPC (or LPC eligible) LCSW or LCPC
  • Possess a core skill set of CBT DBT ACT and Motivational Interviewing skills
  • Have prior experience working in crisis environment partial hospitalization intensive outpatient inpatient hospital or residential setting (preferred not required)
  • Have prior experience treating: Depression/Mood disorders Anxiety disorders

This range includes multiple career path levels across the organization; where you fall in the range is dependent upon a number of factors including but not limited to your years of experience type of experience location and education/certifications.
