Job Description

An international BESS manufacturer is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer.

Duties & Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer specializing in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) you will be responsible for the design development and implementation of BESS projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams you will be responsible for electrical system design equipment selection integration and testing of BESS installations. Your technical expertise attention to detail and problemsolving abilities will contribute to the successful deployment of renewable energy solutions and support South Africas transition to a sustainable energy future.

Essential Requirements:
  • Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics Engineering Degree NQF level 8 / 4year Degree / Postgraduate Diploma
  • Minimum of 35 years work experience in design and commissioning
  • BESS knowledge
  • Knowledge of commercial inverter systems
  • Working knowledge of OHS
  • AutoCAD/SolidWorks (advantageous)
  • Soft skills
  • Technical report writing: Essential
  • MS Office: Essential
  • Presentation skills
