Position: Home Child Care Coordinator Pedagogical Lead
Job Type: Contract
Location: Durham Home Childcare Durham and Clarington Region Ontario
Hours: 35 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $27.90 $30 per hour
Anticipated Start Date: July 28 2025
Anticipated Contract End date: August 1 2026

Come Work with Compass ELC: the role:
As a Compass ELC Home Child Care Coordinator you will work alongside some of the most passionate caring and dedicated Home Child Care Providers in the industry. You will spend your time engaging connecting and learning alongside providers and children families and peers. You will support the recruiting process for new home child care providers ensuring licensing standards are met and Compass ELC values are evident in all aspects of the Home Child Care program.
You will have a focus in Pedagogy and Culture within the Home Child Care team and willsupport a program with a deepening culture of reflective practice and growing pedagogy that is aligned with Compass ELCs vision values pedagogical themes cultural elements strategic plan and How Does Learning Happen.
This contract position is for 35 hours per week and hours of work may vary due to occasional evening and weekend obligations. This role will work out of our Durham Office located in Courtice Ontario as a home base. This role will be expected to travel out to our Durham and Clarington Home Child Care Providers to support with Pedagogy and Program visits.
Responsibilities include:
- Building relationships and working collaboratively with coworkers providers community partners and children to grow a supportive and inclusive culture.
- Supporting providers and children by learning and acknowledging everyones diverse needs.
- Engaging in and supporting professional learning that builds a culture of reflective practice and collaborative critical thinking.
- Nurturing a culture of collaboration research and reflective practice that grows our community of learners and deepens our practice in alignment with our pedagogical orientations and strategic vision.
- Creating systems and structures for focused pedagogical time with providers.
- Support providers to bring visibility to childrens learning and competencies.
- Support providers in creating and maintaining aesthetically pleasing rich learning environments both indoors and outdoors to engage childrens curious minds and lively bodies.
- Supporting in the onboarding and set up of new Home Child Care Providers within the Durham team.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years experience working in a licensed childcare environment
- Is passionate about early learning and care emergent curriculum and lifelong learning
- Is eager to grow your practice as a collaborator researcher facilitator and learner
- Has a natural disposition towards research and inquiry
- Has a deep understanding of How Does Learning Happen related legislation Compass ELC policies and procedures Child Care Early Years Act and licensing standards I child care.
- Is registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- Possesses the training and documents required by CELC and the Ministry of Education to work in a childcare setting:
- Clear and uptodate Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
- Updated Immunization records or a signed and notarized refusal of affidavit or medical exemption)
