Position Title: Mathematics Teacher
Location: Sand Springs Public Schools
Charles Page High School
Reports to: Principal and/or other Supervisor (Ryan Bivin Principal)
Contract: 180 Days/ 7 hours daily
Status: Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:Must hold proper state certification (Mathematics for High School)/OSBI

Position Summary:
Create a flexible program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with pupils; motivate pupils to develop skills attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for education following each pupils ability; and establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.
Essential Duties:
Teach mathematics to pupils in a classroom using the course of study adopted by the Oklahoma State Department of Education and Sand Springs Board of Education and any other appropriate learning activities.
Instruct pupils in citizenship and essential subject matter specified in the school districts state law and administrative regulations and procedures.
Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil with the identified objectives.
Translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction.
Utilizes grading patterns that are fairly administered and based on identified criteria.
Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. Treat pupils with respect and dignity.
Evaluate pupils academic and social growth keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports.
Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupils progress and interpret the school program.
Interacts with pupils staff and parents positively and professionally.
Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health attitude and learning problems.
Establish rapport with pupils and provide a pleasant safe and orderly climate conducive to learning.
Maintains professional competence through inservice education activities provided by the district and selfselected professional growth activities.
Supervise and monitor students during outofclassroom activities during the assigned working day which may include but are not limited to (cafeteria duty field trips playground duty hallway monitoring etc..
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge Skills and/or Abilities Required):
A bachelors in education or a related field is required.
Oklahoma Teaching Certification in subjects listed below or subjects or Alternative Teaching Certification approved by the Oklahoma State Department of Education is required.
Secondary Mathematics.
Must possess an ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students staff parents and the community.
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others demonstrate selfdiscipline and initiative and follow state and district guidelines.
