Clark College is currently accepting applications for multiple parttime Biology Professor positions. Applicants must be available to teach inperson in the daytime or evening hours. At this time we are particularly interested in instructors who can teach Majors Cell/Molecular Biology Majors Organismal Physiology Microbiology and/or General Biology. The lecture rate is $90.47 per hour and the lab rate is $77.27 per hour.

This parttime position is an ongoing recruitment in which applications are collected yearround. Applicants must be available to teach the daytime evening or weekend hours. Positions will be filled as program needs arise.

Position Responsibilities

GENERAL FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Instruct Biology classes utilizing techniques and knowledge of the discipline that facilitate student learning.
  • Participate in decisionmaking processes by taking part in department and college committees.
  • Pursue professional development.
  • Strive to enhance teaching and learning techniques.
  • Work well with people of all ages from academically culturally and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
  • Understand and commit to the mission of Clark College.
  • Effectively assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and participate in relevant department activities that support the teaching and learning environment.
  • Effectively use computer applications (such as Canvas) and email for instruction and communication where appropriate.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Masters Degree in Biology or a closely related field (with significant graduate coursework in biology) or a closely related field.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team.

Supplemental Information

SALARY STATEMENT:Lecture hourly rate is $90.47 and lab hourly rate is $77.27.
