About Us:
Bidgerdii Community Health Service is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled primary health care service operating in the Rockhampton and Central Queensland region for close to 30 years. The organisation is a bulk billing communitycontrolled health service managed by a Board of Directors who oversee and manage the strategic directions of the service.
Bidgerdii provides comprehensive primary health and wellbeing services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in the Rockhampton and surrounding regions. Bidgerdii collaborates with health and wellbeing partner agencies to enable integrated continuity of care for the community and continue to work to contribute to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health policy and program reform in Queensland.
About the Role:
As a SEWB Counsellor at Bidgerdii you will be at the heart of our mission to provide culturally sensitive counselling and educational support to Indigenous clients grappling with grief loss trauma and a range of other challenges affecting their social and emotional wellbeing. This role specifically prioritises the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
Your primary objective will be to facilitate a journey of healing and improvement in the overall wellbeing of your clients. To accomplish this you will employ a blend of professional counselling techniques and cocase coordination all within a framework of cultural sensitivity and respect. Your efforts will be dedicated to empowering clients helping them to build resilience and achieve a healthier state of mind.
This vital role is more than a job. It is a call to make a profound difference in the lives of individuals and communities through the delivery of services that are both professional and deeply respectful of cultural practices and perspectives. You will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals including social workers psychologists and other mental health specialists all united in the goal of supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of our clients.
