The School of Environmental and Life Sciences is one of five Schools within the College of Engineering Science and Environment. As the largest School in the College the School of Environmental and Life Sciences (SELS) offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The School maintains numerous internationally significant research activities with substantial numbers of higher degree research students as well as excellent research facilities.

The School of Environmental and Life Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturer with teaching and research expertise in the Earth Sciences. Based in a diverse and growing area of the School producing highquality research outputs the successful candidate will establish and maintain a research program that is distinct but complimentary to existing strengths of the team. You will have a strong research track record relative to experience and a clear vision for evolving a successful future research and innovation portfolio while also contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Earth Science.
How will you inspire us
The successful candidates will have:
- Expertise: Completed undergraduate or postgraduate training in Earth Science and a doctoral qualification in Earth Science or related field (fundamental applied or experimental).
- HighQuality Research: Demonstrated record of publication in highquality outlets
- Supervision: Skills and experience in active supervision of honours masters and/or Higher Degree by Research postgraduate research projects.
- Quality Teaching: Demonstrate recent ability to deliver highquality and stateofthe art undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching with demonstrated experience in teaching as it applies to the Earth Sciences.
- Curriculum Design: Demonstrate recent ability to contribute at undergraduate honours and/or postgraduate levels taking responsibility for the preparation and delivery of course modules and coordinating one or more courses including collaboration in curriculum design and delivery where appropriate.
- Engagement: Ability to efficiently perform in allocated internal roles sharing academic service responsibilities contributing to outcomes of internal committees and developing external collaborations.
- Culture: Demonstrated desire to work cohesively in a team environment and proactively contribute to a supportive positive and respectful workplace culture in Earth Science and the University more broadly to create a work environment that upholds the University values of equity.
