QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate must hold a valid Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Mathematics or be eligible. They should possess at least a Bachelors degree in Mathematics Education or a related field; Masters degree preferred. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in teaching Algebra 1 and have a strong understanding of mathematical concepts and pedagogy. Prior teaching experience at the middle or high school level is preferred. Additionally the candidate should exhibit excellent communication organizational and interpersonal skills along with the ability to integrate technology into the classroom to enhance learning. A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with educational best practices and standards is essential.
DESCRIPTION
TheHigh School Algebra 1 Teacher is responsible for providing highquality instruction in Algebra 1 to students fostering a positive and engaging learning environment and fostering a deep understanding of mathematical concepts problemsolving skills and critical thinking abilities in students. The teacher will develop lesson plans that align with state standards assess student progress and implement instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs. The goal is to help students develop a solid understanding of algebraic concepts and prepare them for higherlevel mathematics courses.

SUPERVISION
Work is performed under the supervision of the School Principal and other administrators as appropriate.
WORK CONDITIONS
Duties performed are typically in the school setting. Performs professional work providing support and consultative services for assigned department/program. Work requires frequent standing sitting walking and light lifting. Some assignments are subject to deadlines inherent in tailoring and delivering programs to meet the needs of diverse groups. Employees may be required to perform emergency and nonemergency healthrelated services for students as needed.
