Job Description
Overall Responsibility:
This is a general level technical work supporting higher level inspectors and engineers on assignments relating to highway and bridge construction inspection. Employee will perform a range of routine duties. Work is performed under technical and administrative
supervisions.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Perform independent routine and standardized inspections of construction processes and materials to assure compliance with the construction contract.
- May inspect truck load tickets for roadway aggregate base course borrow material and asphaltic concrete at project field sites.
- Carry out a variety of simple materials sampling inspection and/or testing.
- Responsible for contract administrative duties which may include field measurements of pay item quantities as well as other Department required documentation.
- Responsible for performing highly complex technical assignments in field.
- Will be making and checking engineering computations inspecting construction work and conducting field tests and as responsible for coordinating and managing the lowerlevel inspectors.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Experience Proficiencies Skills and Certifications:
High school graduate or equivalent. Strong MS Word and Excel skills is a plus.
