Job Description

Overall Responsibility:

This is a general level technical work supporting higher level inspectors and engineers on assignments relating to highway and bridge construction inspection. Employee will perform a range of routine duties. Work is performed under technical and administrative
supervisions.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  1. Perform independent routine and standardized inspections of construction processes and materials to assure compliance with the construction contract.
  2. May inspect truck load tickets for roadway aggregate base course borrow material and asphaltic concrete at project field sites.
  3. Carry out a variety of simple materials sampling inspection and/or testing.
  4. Responsible for contract administrative duties which may include field measurements of pay item quantities as well as other Department required documentation.
  5. Responsible for performing highly complex technical assignments in field.
  6. Will be making and checking engineering computations inspecting construction work and conducting field tests and as responsible for coordinating and managing the lowerlevel inspectors.
  7. Additional duties as assigned.

Experience Proficiencies Skills and Certifications:

High school graduate or equivalent. Strong MS Word and Excel skills is a plus.
