Deliver high quality recreation services for residents visitors and the St. Charles community by adhering to the Districts safety and administrative policies and procedures.
This position is well suited for someone with a pleasant and positive personality with an enthusiastic attitude. Work record that shows reliability initiative tact organizational skills and productivity.
Required: High School Diploma or in process. Minimum 16 years of age and Lifeguard Certified or certified within 30 days. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions in the workplace. Must possess strong swimming skills along with the ability to communicate instructions in a professional and keen manner. Must have strong interpersonal skills and work well with the public and other staff. Must display a high degree of emotional maturity while keeping difficult situations in proper perspective. Must be detail oriented with the ability to process information accurately and use independent judgment when needed. Must have or complete CPR/AED/First Aid Certification and Mandated Reporter certification prior to starting work and within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Superintendent of Recreation Assistant Superintendent of Recreation Aquatics RVMG and Haines Manager Aquatics and Youth Programs Supervisor the Pool Manager and the Assistant Pool Manager the Lifeguard shall complete assigned duties to the best of their abilities offering suggestions of better ways to accomplish jobs and be ever mindful of the best interests of the St. Charles Park District and of fellow employees.
