Job Description

Agile Space Industries Inc. (AGILE) designs builds and tests inspace propulsion systems for satellites and spacecraft. AGILE uses state of the art 3D metal alloy printing techniques to rapidly design manufacture and test new engine designs in our purposebuilt propulsion test facility. With over a decade of experience testing rocket engines and engineers who have worked at industry leaders like Blue Origin SpaceX NASA and Aerojet Rocketdyne AGILE is a rapidly growing company with many exciting Defense Civil and Commercial programs.

AGILE is headquartered is Durango CO with a facility in Mount Pleasant PA and growing presence in Tulsa OK. The CEO CFO and CCO are based around Boulder CO.

AGILE is seeking a growthoriented and experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join a fast paced highly technical environment. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will provide leadership in the development of personnel and internal processes used to support product development and manufacturing of highly technical space hardware.

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will be responsible for understanding the manufacturing planning and process needs of the business developing project plans to achieve those needs and aligning labor resources to deploy against the program development and needs. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will perform in a blended role of people management project management and program support as an individual contributor.

Job Details:

  • Set the vision for the Manufacturing Engineering department.
  • Conduct team management and building responsibilities including hiring and onboarding performance management career development and team building.
  • Provide insight and guidance for team growth.
  • Identify manage and execute continuous improvement projects.
  • Support and monitor team performance and productivity through metrics.
  • Identify and reduce risks in manufacturing processes.
  • Apply a scientific mindset to all facets of the job.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurrence.
  • Develop ideas you might be called crazy for then prove they work.
  • Review work instructions and implement best practices.
  • Report on status of project and team performance to executive leadership.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or advanced degree in related engineering or technical field.
  • 8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or similar field.
  • 5 years of project management and/or people leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing controls processes procedure creation and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with progression of hardware from design concept to production including prototyping New Product Introduction (NPI) Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) Transition to Production (TTP) and full scale production.
  • Experience implementing Lean concepts.
  • Experience leading Kaizen activities or Root Cause Analysis efforts.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP (such as SAP CostPoint NetSuite or similar) and MES software.
  • Experience with manufacturing planning and scheduling.
  • Experience working in a fastpaced collaborative environment with a focus on delivering results on tight timelines.
  • Proficient understanding of GD&T and its practical application.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex engineering problems and make datadriven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Candidate must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
  • Ability to work onsite in Durango Colorado.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiar with flight hardware and associated restrictions.
  • Familiar with machine shop capabilities.
  • Familiar with ITAR restrictions.
  • Experience working with proposal efforts.
  • Experience with automation integration.
  • Familiar with additive technologies or metallurgy.
  • Familiar with chemical systems especially hypergols.
  • Industrial Engineering experience is a bonus.
  • Experience with plant layout and standup.
