Job Title: Operations Specialist (NDTF) Reserve List
Reporting To: Counsel/Coordinator

Conditions applying for all candidates

Only professional experience for which candidates can provide official proof of employment will be considered. Candidates could be requested to provide copies of such official documents prior to interviews/test.

This selection exercise will be used to generate a reserve list of suitable candidatesthat may be used to address Organizations similar staffing needs in the future.

Tests/interviews in connection to this selection procedure will take place approximately 2/3 weeks after the deadline for applications. Applicants are kindly requested to plan their availability during this period accordingly in case they are shortlisted.

Selected candidates will be expected to report for duty approximately two to three months after receiving an offer of employment at the latest.

This selection exercise may be used to generate a reserve list of suitable candidates that may be used to address Organizations similar staffing needs in the future.

INTRODUCTION OF POST


The incumbent will be part of the Notices and Diffusions Task Force (NDTF) and will work under the overall supervision of the Executive Director Legal Affairs or his/her designee. He/she will participate in the compliance review of Notices and Diffusions including by conducting quality control assignments research and document review and communication with member countries. He/she must use professional judgment in performing the duties/tasks assigned to him/her; maintain good communication with his/her supervisor(s) and colleagues; and given the sensitive nature of the work perform his/her duties with discretion.

PRIMARY DUTIES


DUTY 1 Processing of incoming messages quality control and compliance checks of Notices and Diffusions
Receives assesses and processes internally incoming messages and requests to NDTF (which may be received in all four official languages);
Performs quality control compliance review and publication of Notices and Diffusions according to the Constitution the Rules on the Processing of Data and internal guidance such as standard operating procedures;
Liaise with other IPSG units in relation to processing of incoming messages and requests for Notices and Diffusions.

DUTY 2 Advanced use of INTERPOL Information System
Performs advanced database searches in INTERPOL Information System and other data processing activities;
Provides advice on data processing activities to NDTF and other IPSG staff as well as NCBs when required;
Stays abreast with developments in INTERPOL databases applications and data processing procedures. Provide suggestions for improvements.


DUTY 3 Open sources research and monitoring
Performs relevant open sources research on assigned cases or subject matters;
Participates in the development of open sources research methodologies;
Monitors international news and maintain geopolitical awareness.

DUTY 4 Engagement with member countries
Drafts and exchanges communications with member countries in relation to Notices and Diffusions;
When requested prepares materials and contributes to the organization of meetings with member countries;
When requested participates in meetings with representatives of member countries.

DUTY 5 Presentations and training
Prepares presentations communication materials and training materials in the area of competence;
Delivers presentations training and assistance in the area of competence;
Develops best practices in processing Notices and Diffusions.

DUTY 6 Other duties
Performs any other duties as required by the supervisor.



REQUIREMENTS


All candidates will be assessed on the under mentioned requirements.Please only include professional experience for which you can provide official proof of employment (i.e. payslip indicating your functional title work certificates etc.. Training/Education required
At least two years completed Universitylevel education in an area relevant to the incumbents duties is required.
Studies in international relations law or foreign languages are desired.

Experience required
At least three years experience in in an area relevant to the incumbents duties.


Languages
Fluency in English is required.
Fluency in Arabic is strongly recommended.
Proficiency in French or Spanish would be an additional asset.

Specific skills required
Work experience with law enforcement or law entities would be considered an asset;
Experience working in other international organizations would be considered an asset;
Knowledge of criminal law and procedures or law enforcement actions and practices would be considered an asset;
Strong communication skills both in written and oral form;
Good computer skills. As a minimum proficiency in standard office wordprocessing spreadsheet and presentation software;
Personal and professional maturity;
Ability to work in teams as well as individually;
Ability to work under pressure and produce results on short timelines;
Good drafting skills;
Good listening skills.


WORKING CONDITIONS


Remuneration for appointment on contract: Salary scales of all duty stations of INTERPOL can be found at The starting point is step 1 and one additional step will be granted for every 3 years of fully relevant experience. The salary scales of INTERPOLs officials are adjusted at least once per year (more under exceptional circumstances) on the basis of the methodology used for the calculation of the Purchase Power Parity (PPP).
The successful candidate may be offered appointment on a higher step depending upon professional background and experience. Within the limits of the applicable regulations in the duty station INTERPOL supports selected candidates visa applications and/or special residence permits.
