Job Description
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Hospital Dentistry OMFS /HD) in the Indiana University School of Dentistry IUSD is seeking to fill a fulltime 1.0 12month clinical track faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor with the option to participate in intramural faculty practice. Strong collaboration skills clinical skills and innovation in providing clinical care and instruction in Hospital Dentistry are a must. The appointee will support the treatment of patients with medically complex conditions intellectual disabilities and other special healthcare needs. Other responsibilities include didactic and clinical instruction mentoring residents and predoctoral students on clinical projects with scholarly outcomes participation in IUSD after hours telephone triage oncall service and engagement in the scholarship of teaching and learning. IUSD the only dental school in the state is located on the IUPUI Indianapolis Academic Medical Center campus and offers a dynamic learning environment in which teaching research clinical care and community service are core to our mission as part of an urban academic health center. There are diverse opportunities for professional growth including through the expansion of patient services and the establishment of a GPR program. We enroll approximately 800 students annually in degree and/or certificate programs in dentistry allied dental programs PhD and advanced dental specialty programs tailored to current and future needs of the professions and the communities we serve. We educate nearly 80 of the dentists practicing in Indiana and have over 12000 alumni that are pursuing careers throughout the U.S. and around the world.
