Our clientBlack Girl Ventures (BGV) is seeking a strategic peoplecentered and missiondriven Human Resources Manager to lead their HR function. This role is primarily remote ( only) supporting a nationally distributed team.

Responsibilities:
This is a fullscope strategic HR role where youll:
- Serve as a department of one reporting to the CEO and partnering closely with leadership
- Own the entire employee lifecycle: recruitment onboarding performance management offboarding
- Administer semimonthly payroll (via Gusto) benefits and leaveincluding deductions contributions and compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal state and local employment laws across multiple states (including CA PA NC TX and more)
- Review and update company policies and SOPs regularly
- Build and manage employee engagement morale and sentiment programs
- Be the trusted goto for employees who need a sounding board a resource or someone to help them feel heard
- Serve as a strategic voice on the leadership team helping shape the culture and supporting our longterm expansion plans
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field
- 3 years of human resources management experience
- Handson experience with payroll benefits administration and compliance
- Strong knowledge of employmentrelated laws and multistate regulations
- Demonstrated leadership in employee engagement and culturebuilding initiatives
- Excellent communication conflict resolution and organizational skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization
- Comfort working independently and making decisions with integrity and professionalismbalancing employee advocacy with alignment to organizational goals
- Confident engaging with the Csuite including offering feedback and making proactive datainformed recommendations to improve team experience and operations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn tools like Gusto (or similar HRIS platforms)
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Professional HR certification (e.g. SHRMCP PHR)
- Experience designing and leading sentiment surveys DEIBcentered culture activities or moraleboosting programs
- Experience evaluating or implementing HR systems to support growth and automation
- Experience scaling people operations in lean missiondriven environments
